Style Spotlight: Paul and Shark

“Paul & Shark is a lifestyle sportswear brand distinguished by the unmistakable “shark logo”. This distinctive insignia has over the years become synonymous with freedom, casual elegance and comfort around the world. The Paul & Shark consumer is sporty, well off, travels for business or for pleasure and plays at least a couple of sports but above all he loves the weekend and relaxing outdoors. Born in the 70′s as a yachting brand, the Paul & Shark trademark has expanded over the years to include other sports such as golf and skiing as well as clothing that is not strictly sportswear.”

Last semester I interned at the Paul & Shark Canada showroom where I was exposed to the Fall 2011 collection and wholesaling. Paul & Shark is the type of brand that sells itself, and it was such an incredible experience to be able to work with such high quality and beautiful clothing. While menswear is far more developed than women’s, the consistency in quality is what sets Paul & Shark apart from the competition. The detailing on garments and accessories is extraordinary and unique, from elbow patches to embellishments. The fabric and materials used are of such high quality (yes I am touching on quality again), some of the buyers who came into the showroom were wearing Paul & Shark sweaters that they’d had for 20 years — they still look brand new. With Paul & Shark you definitely pay for what you get.
