Icon of the Decade: 1960′s

The 1960s have been a popular inspiration in the fashion world the last few seasons. Shows like Mad Men and Pan Am have brought the styles and silhouettes into 21st century popular culture. For this reason I am particularly please to bring you this ‘Icon of the Decade’ post to spotlight some of my favourite fashionistas of one of the coolest decades in fashion history. The ladies we’ll be looking to are: Jackie Kennedy, Brigitte Bardot, Twiggy, and Edie Sedgwick. Since life is busy, I’ve decided to link you up with info these style icons of the past instead of writing it up myself. Apologies, but I wanted to get this post out to you and connect you with the right women to look to. I’ve also included some of my favourite looks of theirs for your enjoyment:

Jackie Kennedy

The first lady of fashion

Brigitte Bardot

The beautiful blonde bombshell; a French fashionista

Twiggy

Lovely Lesley Lawson; the original androgynous Brit

Edie Sedgwick

The American muse and fashionable factory girl

If you love the swinging sixties as much as I do, I hope you’ll agree (or at least enjoy) my four favourites for this amazing and influence decade in fashion history.
